It's been awhile...

Definitely has been awhile since I last updated.

Baby is here! Baby is here! Baby is here! He was born May 14th, 2010 @ 4:58pm via c-section (of course) weighing 8 lbs. 15 oz. and was 22 in. long. Dr. McIntosh hit the nail on the head when she guessed his weight right before she sliced me open. She's THAT good! My recovery was about as good as it gets! I was up walking the next morning with a little bit of discomfort but nothing excruciating. We came home on the 16th and walking up 3 flights of stairs wasn't that bad at all!

Mackenzie is a wonderful big sister! She loves to feed Ryan and play with him in his play gym. She gets burp cloths for us and is doing a pretty good job at cleaning up her room. She will be 4 next month...4 YEARS OLD! Where does the time go??? Seems like yesterday she was a tiny little thing. She is a great kid!

Ryan will be 10 weeks old tomorrow. He's doing fantastic! He's sleeping from about 9:30-4(ish) then off and on every 2-3 hours until around 9 when we get up for the day. I've adjusted to the sleep schedule and am not as tired as I was in the beginning. Ryan had his 2 month appointment last week and weighs 12 lbs. 2 oz. and is 22 in. now.

We had a nickname for Mackenzie when she was a baby (Kenzer Benzer) and Ryan has one too. He's Ryno the Dyno. Rawwwrrrrrrrrrr. We sure hope he likes dinosaurs!

I sure do love my sweet family of 4! :)

Baby doctor, sickies and more...

Had my 24 week appointment today. Baby is growing just like he should and he's just as stubborn as his sister. I almost had to schedule a 28 week ultrasound because she couldn't get all the measurements AGAIN but after a few minutes of tugging on my belly and be laying on my side he moved. I had to drink the glucose drink and get my blood drawn. It was just as yucky tasting as it was with Mackenzie. I have to go back tomorrow because someone screwed up and scheduled OB patients today when there was no OB in the office. Yippee.

Mackenzie was sick last week. We paid Dr. Danitis a visit and he ruled it as an ear infection. She's on an antibiotic and a cough medicine. Apparently the cough medicine tastes pretty bad because Mackenzie refuses to take it by itself. I've had to conceal it in juice, sprite, you name it and I'll put it in there. She doesn't have a clue (and we'll keep it that way). She's doing MUCH better now but whatever it was she had mommy and daddy got. We're fine now but I have never had such a sore throat before!!! Glad the sickies are out of our house, hopefully they won't return.

We found the stroller we want for Ryan. It's SO cool. The stroller handle moves so you can push baby backwards. It's pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Kris thinks I'm weird getting this excited over baby stuff but whatever, I get excited over little stuff. Hah.

I don't know about you but I am SO ready for Spring to get here. I am tired of the up and down weather and the RAIN. My car needs washing and I really want to take Mackenzie out to ride her bike and play chalk on the driveway but not in this weather! I think we're having fresh air withdrawls.

Dave likes to wear, dirty underwear.

Alvin and the Chipmunks. Wow! What a great movie. Uncle Greg let Mackenzie borrow it a few weeks ago and we have watched it 5 thousand 8 hundred billion times. Or so it feels. It's a great movie. Bebaw took everyone to see The Squeakwal when he came to visit. It was Mackenzie's first movie in a theater and she did wonderful! She even danced in her seat. It was priceless. I think we may have to buy them both for Mackenzie. Here is the song that Alvin sings to Dave in the movie:
Dave likes to wear
Dirty Underwear
With little tiny hairs

Yeah, really, that's what he sings. Don't you just want to shake your head and say, What? We were at The Varsity the week after Christmas and kiddo blurted out, "DAVE LIKES TO WEAR, DIRTY UNDERWEAR". We were a little embarrassed but needless to say it was quite hysterical. That will be one to tell her first boyfriend. :)

Today, I woke up with blurred vision and then gradually started to get a headache. Ended up calling my OB and had to go into the office. Nothing ever happens when Kris is off work, it always happens when he's at the fire station, go figure! Thanks to my best friend, Kristen, I was able to get to the OB. Blood pressure was normal (slightly low, actually), 108/76 and baby was fine. He did not like Dr. Tope putting the dopper on my belly. Is he stubborn already?!? Anyway, She recommends I see an eye doctor. Fantastic. I get to wear nerd goggles. (No offense to all you goggle wearers out there).

Tomorrow our high is going to be 41 tomorrow. YAY!!! Maybe we'll break out the pool and take a swim. ;) I am SO tired of this below freezing weather. The view from inside is beautiful but the second I step out that door I want to come back in. And being pregnant this time around, I have been extremely HOT natured. It takes a lot for me to be cold these days! I was rather disappointed in our "snow" this past Thursday night. North Atlanta got A LOT more than we did, some counties in N. GA will still be closed tomorrow. I can't say i've ever had 3 snow days in a row, those lucky dawgs!

So, I got sucked into The Bachelor tonight. It was quite interesting. Never thought one of the girls would cheat on "The Bachelor". After all, he's the reason she's there. Right? How strange.

And it's BEDTIME for me! Mackenzie's deep into la-la land with her "dwoggie" that she's been carrying around all day and Kris is at the fire station tonight so that means I get to snuggle up with his pillow. Oh the joys of being a fireman's wife. I am very proud of his career. I don't necessarily like the whole idea of running into a burning building myself but he does. It takes a brave man to be a firefighter and I will always respect them. Seriously, how many women get to say, "My husband SAVES lives"? Gives me chill bumps every time!

My *FIRST* post...

Just a wee bit skeptical about this whole thing but I figured I'd give it a shot.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE PEOPLE I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT:

Kris-my awesome hubby. Who is also a muy caliente fireman. :)
Mackenzie-my sweet baby girl (who will be 4 in August).
Ryan-my little thumper (due to arrive in May).
